Cutting Arcs

The round deck consisted of many arcs cut into ¾” plywood which would later be framed

The deck was built in large chunks and faced before being painted

This is the structure that was under the deck

The deck edges were all ground and sanded so that there were no hard edges

Pipes were added to the facing of the deck to give a sewer look to the prison

The archway in the wall was a dificult project do to the fact that the wall curved and the archway curved

These bars go in the archway opening, they were made strong enough to climb

This is the steel support behind the wall that held up and counterbalanced the ladder

This is the ladder after it was installed, an actor spent most of the show on top of this ladder

Trap Door

This is the trap door over a little reflecting pool, the chain that held up the trap door and the elastic retracted the chain to help with chain storage

Trap Piston

The piston was operated by a stage hand backstage it lifted the front edge of the trap door up enough for the actors to get their hands under it and open the lid

Water System

This water system filtered and heated the water in the reflecting pool

Drain

This drain pulled the water in to the filter heating system and on the other side there was a drain that the water entered the pool
